09-27-2024 | In light of the sad news about the passing of Dame Maggie Smith, I decided to update the Contemporary Cast & Crew page with a wonderful photo of her with Barrie Ingham (English voice actor of Basil of Baker Street) in the 1974 stage production of 'Snap'. RIP, Maggie Smith, you were a lovely legend and a sophisticated lady!

09-20-2024 | Updated the Craftwork section of Miscellaneous with Great Mouse Detective Ears - Basil, Olivia, Toby, Sherlock, Ratigan Dawson, Fidget by FlipStitchRepeatCo on Etsy. These Ears are super adorable and something that would be fun to wear while visiting a Disney theme park, to show your love for the film!

09-13-2024 | "Zoinks!" Added for fun to the Scenes and GIFs pages is the moment when Basil, Dr Dawson, and Olivia are in the toy shop and she startles the pair by turning on a loud music box. Dr Dawson leaps into Basil's arms in fright, a movement that reminds me of Scooby-Doo leaping into Shaggy's arms or vice versa. Fun Fact: The first episode of "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?" premiered on September 13, 1969. It's an animated series about a group of teens solving mysteries.

09-06-2024 | Updated the WDCC section of Merchandise (page 2) with a new image featuring extra sculptures of the WDCC Caboodles featuring Basil, Professor Ratigan, Dr Dawson, and Olivia Flaversham!

08-30-2024 | Updated Merchandise (page 2) in the Pin section area with an image and info on Disney After Dark 2024 Pin Event. It's a four-pack set of Movie Moments 2 - Fantasia, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, and The Great Mouse Detective.

08-23-2024 | Updated the Merchandise page with images of the newest 2024 Christmas Ornament. This one features the famous "Smile, everyone!" scene with Basil, Dr Dawson, and Olivia making a grand escape from Ratigan's traps. I found out about it from my UK friend, Paul, and then I found it at the UK site of The Disney Store. It is currently not available in the US.

08-16-2024 | Updated the Merchandise page under 'Books (with GMD mentioned)' with a photo and an outside link to information on a new book: Making Disney Magic … from a Mermaid to Moana, Tales of a Disney Animation Director by Ron Clements. Ron was at D23 to promote his new book due out next year!

08-09-2024 | For Book Lovers Day (August 9th), this was a nice addition to the Reviews section. I added Carol Sperling talks about Eve Titus and reads her Daughter's Poem "Basil of Baker Street." She holds up original Basil books by Eve Titus, mentions how the characters became immortalized in a Disney film, and then she reads a poem by her daughter. Lovely video!

08-02-2024 | Updated the Games page with The Great Mouse Detective Disney Franchise Lorcana Cards, a full grid containing 17 cards from the Lorcana game series. The images were from the Lorcania web site, where there is more information to check out!

07-26-2024 | With the San Diego Comic Con currently going on, here are some fond memories from 2009 when I met two Disney icons who worked on "Basil": Don Hahn (Production Manager) and Ruben Procopio (Key Assistant Animator). Photos were added from my own camera roll at the pages of Contemporary Cast & Crew and Goodies (Ruben sketched an awesome drawing of Basil as gift art for the site!)!

07-19-2024 | Updating/Repairing the Fan Art page and also wishing a Happy Birthday to actor Benedict Cumberbatch, known for his role as Sherlock Holmes on the TV series, Sherlock, added to 'Off Site' is a brilliant artwork of Basil mirroring his features. Created by Canis-suricatta and titled, My city, my territory, please check out the rest of the deviantART gallery!
