{ Eve Titus }
(July 16, 1922 - February 4, 2002) Eve Titus is the author of numerous best selling children's books, including Anatole about a French mouse, and super sleuth Basil of Baker Street, the Sherlock Holmes of the mouse world. Artist Paul Galdone illustrated nearly all of Ms. Titus' books, winning a Caldecott Honor award for both Anatole and Anatole and the Cat. The Basil of Baker Street series raised further popularity after Disney's 26th animated feature, The Great Mouse Detective, opened in theaters in 1986. The little Parisian mouse known as Anatole also got his big break in an animated TV series. Simply titled "Anatole," the show aired in 1994 and ran for a few seasons on the Disney Channel.
